As for the show itself, it continues to reward people who have watched it since the beginning and people who pay attention to detail. Oh, and who are relatively well-read. I think this season is shaping up very well. This episode, and the whole season, has returned to more realistic and character-driven narratives. And I continue to believe that The Simpsons remains the most detailed, creative and well crafted animation on television, and probably one of the most beautifully done shows on television tout court.
